FAKE MUSIC

Scholar-in-Residence

August 13, 2013

We're pleased to announce our inaugural scholar in residence in Fake Music, Millie Kapp.

Millie Kapp is a New York–based performance artist, writer and curator. She graduated
with a Masters in Performance Studies from NYU in 2013 and received her BA in 2010
from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Kapp’s past performances have been
presented around the US in Oakland, Chicago, Minneapolis and New York. In addition
to holding numerous artist residencies, Kapp’s performance practice is fed by
programming, curating and writing about art.

This position is ongoing and does not entail the production of scholarship, the representation of Fake Music to any particular academic community, nor the adoption of any particular critical stance. Despite this, Millie's role is not that of a figurehead, a concept that is moot in the context of fake music and fake scholarship.
